Caroline comes to St. Bede's after several years growing in her faith at Church of the Epiphany, Atlanta; All Saints Pasadena California; and among amazing people she meets every day. Prior to becoming a priest, Caroline served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy and practiced corporate law with King and Spalding LLP, Atlanta. She is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis MD; St. John's College, Annapolis MD; and Emory Law School and the Candler School of Theology here in Atlanta.
As Assistant Rector, Caroline is a priest for the whole parish, but she focuses her attention on youth and adult spiritual growth; encouraging non-clergy leadership without overburdening volunteers (church can exist without clergy…but it is nothing without its lay leaders!); nurturing habits of connecting our faith with our actual daily lives; and maximizing mutually supportive relationships with our neighbors who are marginalized by race, socioeconomic resources, gender, sexuality, religion, physical ability, and age. Caroline lives in Decatur and is tremendously blessed to share her life with her three children: Clara, Cullen, and John.
