My love for St. Bede’s began in the 1970’s when I began attending Sunday services with my then girlfriend, now wife, Cheryl. Father Milton Murray was the Rector and the campus consisted of several disconnected buildings. Father Murray along with my Uncle, a Methodist Minister officiated our wedding ceremony. I have seen St. Bede’s grow from several disconnected buildings to a beautiful nave with a welcoming commons area and classroom building. I have always found St Bede’s to be a warm and welcoming congregation. I embrace the order of service, the Liturgy, the openness of the Episcopal Church, the music, the choir and Folk Masses. I believe St. Bede’s to be a very special place.
I have previously served as a Vestry member for three years and also on the Facilities, Endowment and Stewardship committees. My time on the Vestry has provided spiritual growth and close friendships and I have enjoyed working with multiple Rectors and other clergy. Along with Cheryl I have taught in the YAC youth Sunday school taking part in their pilgrimage to New York City and to their mission trip to Perlington, Mississippi following Hurricane Katrina. During those trips I witnessed the special bonding and spiritual development that our high school youth enjoyed. Let Love overflow!
