Loretta Vail – Loretta has been attending St. Bede’s with her husband, Tom, since 1978. They came on a Sunday in August and never left. Loretta is a retired educator of 34 years. She received her Education Specialist Degree from UGA.
Loretta has had several church leadership positions - serving on the Vestry under Milton Murray (at her first meeting Father Murray announced that he was retiring), thus finishing her term under John Porter. During that time, she served as Junior Warden. She also served on the Vestry when Janice Chaleron was Rector.
Loretta has co-chaired the High Tea for 13 years and the Advent Bake Sale. Currently, she is chair of Invite Welcome Connect Team and works closely with the Greeters. This committee has hosted several newcomer dinners and picnics. Loretta taught Sunday School, confirmation class, and is an active member of Sisters of Bede and chair of Bede Counters.
Loretta and Tom have one daughter, Jennifer and two grandchildren that live in Colorado Springs, CO.
